Ok so there isnt really a way to customize a guitar for sight reading, but I want to talk about guitar sight reading because it is important for guitar players, and it is an often ignored skill.
Sight reading has become lost in the world of rock and blues guitar. There is nothing wrong with these styles but it is a shame that sight reading on guitar has become completely abandoned. Reading music is an activity that connects you with hundreds of years of composers and musicians who laid the foundation for even elements of pop and rock that we hear today. That being said, the passing of music by verbal and audible means such as in jazz and blues are also important to keep in mind, and obviously that does not rely on sight reading.
Part of the problem is the emergence of guitar tabs, and although these can be helpful, especially to beginners, they encourage bad habits such as a reliance on the visual nature of guitar playing. They also cannot distinguish rhythm very well, and as such players who rely on tabs often do not develop a sophisticated understanding of rhythm. So all you guitar customizers should make en effort to learn guitar sight reading.

Customizing an Ibanez Bass Guitar
There are many ways to customize an Ibanez Bass. These are good quality guitars but come with many parts that could be improved. Most bass guitars that are not the absolute top of the line will come with plastic parts such as pickup rings, truss rod covers, electronics covers, and strap locks. Beyond that, the tuning pegs and bridges of the guitars can often be customized into higher quality and better looking options. Some custom guitar parts can make a world of difference in your bass guitar.
These customizations may not change the sound of your bass like a custom distortion pedal, but they will go a long way in improving its looks and feel. Another way to customize a bass guitar is to upgrade the pickups. There are usually always some better pickups you can get put into your guitar, and many times you can achieve a much different sound that you may be going for. This is one of the biggest guitar customizations you can do as far as changing the sound.
Other than that, switching out the plastic stock parts for some custom guitar parts, maybe some wooden guitar parts is a great idea for a cheap guitar customization that can be done yourself.

Custom Distortion Pedal
A custom guitar distortion pedal is a great way to get a high quality guitar distortion sound out of your instrument. Customizing your guitar sound is important and a custom guitar pedal can do the trick. Many times these are standard distortion pedals that are upgraded with new electronics to achieve a better quality tone. A custom pedal can be an important part of your sound just like customizing the guitar parts of your instrument is.
There are people online that specialize in custom guitar parts as well as custom distortion pedals and they would be a good place to look to customize your guitar sound if your local shop cant help. Guitar Customization and modification expands to your effects pedals as well as your actual guitar. And nothing will have a more immediate effect on your sound as a custom distortion pedal.

Custom Guitar Parts
Custom guitar parts are an important part of guitar customization. If you want to customize your guitar, the easiest way is to just add and replace some custom guitar parts, rather than do any actual construction to your guitar. It is amazing the difference you can make by changing out some of the stock guitar parts that come on your electric guitar. Many guitar makers use cheap plastic parts for the pickup rings, truss rod cover, tone and volume knobs, and selector switches. Its hard to feel good about your instrument if it is half plastic, this is where customizing you guitar with custom guitar parts comes in.
I recently replaced all of the removable plastic parts of one of my guitars and the difference is huge. Instead of feeling like a mass produced product, it now feels like an organic, custom, professional instrument. The sound is improved too, and none of the electronics were changed. This comes from using wooden guitar parts as replacement parts. I find that wooden guitar parts create the biggest improvement in sound and look. They are classy and interesting to the eye. In general I think an instrument such as the electric guitar should be as wooden as possible.
Custom guitar parts can come in many different colors and materials so it should be possible to find a good fit for any guitar you wish to customize. There are also many guitar makers online so it should be easy to find what you are looking for.
Knowing that you can replace any guitar part with some high quality custom guitar parts, you might even consider buying a cheap no name brand guitar that has a nicely made body and just replacing all the parts to create a top of the line custom guitar for much less than you would normally have to spend on a mass produced name brand guitar. Guitar customization with custom guitar parts is something you should think about for your next guitar purchase.

Guitar Customization Parts
There are many reasons to customize your guitar or buy a custom guitar and also many reasons to use soundproofing materials with your guitar setup. Custom guitar parts and guitar customization can provide a better playing experience for you by improving the look and feel of your instrument and also improving the sound. But even with great customized guitar parts you will not be able to enjoy your playing if you have to keep the volume to low because your practice space is not properly soundproofed.
This is where some common soundproofing materials can come in handy. They can make it so not only do people outside of your room hear less of the sound you are making, they make the sound inside the room better as well if they are used correctly. A combination of guitar customization, custom guitar parts and some good soundproofing will help out your playing situation a lot.
It is hard to practice to your full potential if things are not fitting together perfectly. Improving your guitar with custom guitar parts and guitar customization is a good first step but you also need to have a decent practice space and this comes from implementing soundproofing materials.
